Kodak’s Vibrant Legacy

The terrace garden for the photo studio and café is a design inspired by the iconic aesthetic of Kodak film. The vibrant yellow (Hex: #FAB617) associated with Kodak is the key element, represented through perforated metal panels with circular holes. These perforations mirror the sprocket holes of a film strip, creating a visual connection to the analog roots of photography. Paired with a sleek black structural frame, the design captures the timeless interplay of light and shadow, much like the essence of photography itself.

Rhythms of the Reel

Wooden slats of varying dimensions were thoughtfully incorporated to evoke the rhythm and continuity of a film reel. The layering of materials—wood and perforated metal—introduces depth and texture, further enhancing the connection to the tactile qualities of film. This combination not only ensures structural integrity but also adds a sense of warmth and naturalism to the industrial aesthetic.

A Creative Continuum

The terrace acts as an extension of the creative identity of the photo studio, bridging the gap between functionality and artistic expression. The bold yet inviting design reflects the spirit of innovation and creativity synonymous with Kodak, creating a space where visitors can experience a blend of nostalgia and contemporary architectural elegance. This terrace garden is a physical addition and a symbolic representation of storytelling and design.
